Solid Minerals Extraction
Our mining operations are designed to combine efficiency, safety, and environmental responsibility. Located in Iyamitet community, Obubra Local Government Area, Cross River State, our site is rich in mineral deposits of high-quality baryte (4.0 SG and above), lead (7.10% purity and above), and zinc (50% and above). We operate under a federally authorized Exploration Licence (EL) of 100 cadastral units (CU) and a Small-Scale Mining Lease (SSML) of 2 CU, both issued by the Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development (FMMSD). These licenses allow us to legally explore, extract, and process minerals in full compliance with Nigerian mining laws. Our operations are carefully planned to ensure minimal disruption to the environment and our host communities, while maintaining high productivity and industrial-grade output.
On a weekly schedule, we produce 70–100 metric tons of baryte (Mt) and 10 Mt of lead, and 5 Mt of zinc ore. All minerals undergo rigorous quality control testing, including specific gravity, purity, and moisture assessments, to ensure reliability for industrial and oilfield applications. This enables us to supply clients in sectors such as oil and gas, chemical manufacturing, construction, and paint production with consistent, export-ready minerals.
Community engagement and sustainability are central to our operations. Local workforce participation exceeds 30%, with employees trained in mining safety, equipment handling, and quality management. Our operations are designed to reduce environmental impact through proper overburden disposal, water recycling, and controlled extraction practices. Beyond mining, we invest in community infrastructure and educational initiatives, creating opportunities that support regional development. By combining cutting-edge mineral processing, ethical mining, and community empowerment, The Field of Diamond Ltd is establishing itself as a trusted leader in Nigeria’s solid minerals sector.
